So it's been a month.  And what a month it's been.

First there was the fall.  Half a flight of stairs.  I was running down the steep wooden stairs to the front door to pick up a package of diapers.  We were fresh out, so I wanted to make sure I didn't miss the delivery.  I fell face forward and my head hit first.  I saw stars like in the cartoons. Somehow, not realizing how hurt I was, I opened the door, picked up the box and carried it upstairs.  Dizzy and sick, I lay on the sofa until the nanny arrived.  I had my first x-ray a few hours later, and, miraculously, no bones were broken.

A few days after that, once my bruises were fading, different aches began, worst in the middle of the night, back, hands, jaw.  First I thought it was my injuries, then I thought it was a virus. And after a week and a half, as the aches were subsiding, my heart began racing.  I woke up last Saturday with it pounding, over 120 beats per minute.  Went to the doctor, again.  Had my first EKG.  They took my blood.  On Tuesday I went back
